PestTech 2016 is the Annual Exhibition and Conference put on by the National Pest Technicians Association in the UK, held on November 2nd in Birmingham. With an exhibition consisting of over 50 exhibitors, a series of seminars on interesting and informative topics as well as practical demonstrations, PestTech is the event for the British pest controllers. Steinar Henskes, founder of Bird Control Group, gave a technical workshop on how to keep birds away using laser technology. In the workshop the different variations of the automated laser were covered and the effect of the laser beam on crows, pigeons, sparrows and starlings was demonstrated.
Agrilaser Autonomic
The principle of repelling birds with a laser beam has been inspired by nature. Birds perceive an approaching laser beam as a physical danger. It triggers the bird’s natural survival instincts, causing them to fly away.
Following a sustained and continuous presence of the moving laser beam, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, a previously infested area becomes free of birds as their behavior adapts to the presence of a perceived threat. The Agrilaser Autonomic bird dispersal system is effective on all species of bird. It is silent, offering non-lethal and chemical-free pest control.
Applications include: industrial roofs, solar panel arrays, astroturf pitches, sports stadiums, retail parks, listed building facades, public buildings, warehouses, farm buildings and even unmanned offshore platforms and gas terminals.
